From 1969-1973 there is nothing sloppy about Jimmy’s playing. People that say this have no clue about Jimmy’s live playing they’re just jumping on the bandwagon. Point to me where jimmy is sloppy from 69-73?!? There’s nothing to be found. It’s hard finding a show or song where he even hits a bad note during that period. His playing on The Song Remains the Same soundtrack is impeccable. And his playing on How the West Was Won is perfection. He’s probably the slickest player of all time. Eddie’s playing was sloppy af. Hendrix hit many bad notes on his live albums. They were both much “sloppier” than Jimmy. It’s just nonsense talk.

Got a point. When they returned for Celebration Day, he was awesome. You can't deny the fact, it took several players to pull off Stairway at the Kennedy Honors.

I guess you can say that about his live performances. But he also created studio magic with Achilles Last Stand and Nobodys Fault But Mine during that "drug era", which are arguably his most complex and precisely played masterpieces overall.

Eddie had no room to talk. Over multiple tours, he’d be wasted on stage and playing like garbage. He was just one of those Karen types that was really great at guitar. Couldn’t get along with literally anyone.

This is a horrible taint on the thoughts of a bohemian.. someone so free as Keith.. who shines so much love into music.. who has embraced everything from the basement floor up.. someone who has the creds to pluperfect any music he enjoys.. to say this publicly.. well, it hurts me heart.. not because the mighty zep can’t withstand critics.. God knows that’s been done magnificently.. it’s just that my main man Keef here.. he’s showing his well deserved place in history and it smacks lilts of ethnocentric.. he is not too old because he has become a spirit in rock.. really his work will haunt the world as long as there are material bits to it.. it just makes the God Father of Rock look less invincible.. not to appreciate the iconic place in history Led Zeppelin holds.. Loud evolved well thanks to Jimmy & John.. thunderous rock took shape from the tiny mono footprint.. and this is what he has to say about it?

"Ringo's abilities have been frequently knocked down and criticized by drummers for his basic rhythms and simple drum patterns which drummers have knocked down as pale and plain as compared to his contemporaries." Now that's some insightful and informative analysis right there. (!)

As the narrator said, JPJ was inspired by Muddy Waters. He also was inspired by other Blues singers and musicians like B.B. King, Howlin Wolf (Chester Burnett) and more.

Buddy Rich had no groove. If drumming as a stand-alone concept is your thing he was the master. If you like actual music he ruined a lot of what he played on.

Constant touring, playing anywhere from 2½ -3½ shows, Jimmy broke his finger forcing him to adapt a different technique to play guitar, pain meds, drugs, drinking, the celebrity status all add up to very very sloppy playing. Plus he hung his guitar lower and lower

Poor Peter Green suffering from excess LSD usage wanted Fleetwood mac to donate their earnings and they refused which was ok he was in a different reality in his own mind and decisions made by him where not from a sound mind unfortunately. Though not as bad as Syd Barrett he still had a profound change to his personality and his life aims and ambitions.

Hendrix was the best soundartist ever. He was the best blues guitarist ever. Just listen to John Lee Hooker on what he thought of Jimi´s blues: "A great great bluesman". Listen to Buddy Guy saying "I heard he was a good bluesplayer too" or BB King saying "Jimi played the blues, just that he played it the Jimi Hendrix way". Albert King recorded a not very interesting version of Jimi´s "Red House". Albert King was a good blues player, but Jimi took inspiration from the really old Delta blues players. Like Son House, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, as well as Emore James and early Buddy Guy, Magi Sam, etc and a whole lot others. Therefore his "Manic Depression, Red House, Machine Gun, getting my Heart back together, Midnite Lightning, Killing Floor, Purple Hace, ... they are all blues songs. Hendrix renewed the blues genre, as Muddy Waters had done before him. Albert King was just in a low corner. He never could have played Hendrix´s music. Let´s face it. Albert King joined those that used energy to keep younger blues players down. Play on Jimi!
